The
 President of Russia, Vladimir Putin met on the evening of Thursday, 5 
with the President of France, François Hollande, at the Elysee Palace in
 Paris. The two heads of state gathered by 1:30 a.m. and, according to the 
spokesman of the Russian President, Dmitri Peskov, the talks were 
constructive character, to exchange views on the future of bilateral 
relations.
A very important point in the Russian-French presidential meeting was the Ukrainian problem. The press officer said Putin and Hollande "examined in great detail many aspects for a solution to the crisis in Ukraine".François Hollande and Vladimir Putin had a constructive meeting in Paris
Prior to meeting with Hollande, Putin met with the Prime Minister of Britain, David Cameron. They also discussed bilateral relations and Ukrainian crisis. International leaders are in France for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy.
